F. Corley, well known Oakdale citizen and longstanding member of a prominent family, died at his home in Oakdale early Wednesday, May 25, 1932, following a brief illness. He was ___ years of age. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Oakdale Baptist Church by the Rev. L. A. Materne, pastor. The remains were conveyed to the Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, where interment was made under the direction of Hargrove Undertaking Company of Oakdale. Oliver Lodge No. 84 F. & A. M. conducted the services at the grave. Mr. Corley, long a beloved and highly respected citizen at Oakdale, was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge, being at the time of his death a member of the Rapides Lodge, No. 306. He was born in Scott County, Mississippi, on July 24, 1852 and moved to Winn Parish when but six years old. On October 9, 1873, he was married to Nancy McCarty, in Winnfield. Deceased is survived by his devoted wife, eight sons, and four daughters, 27 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His children are as follows: Mrs. M. L. Gates and Miss Maud Corley of Oakdale; Dr. W. B. Corley and W. P. Corley, Alexandria; I. A. Corley, Mansfield; J. H. Corley and Mrs. E. M. Scarborough, Lake Charles; Mrs. J. W. Gates, Shreveport; J. M. Corley, El Dorado, Ark.; J. L. Corley, Winnfield; J. E. Corley, Oakdale, and C. R. Corley, Lake Charles.
