COUCH Funeral services were held in Pine Bluff, Ark., Thursday at 10:30 a. m. for Harvey C. Couch, chairman of the board of directors of the Louisiana & Arkansas Railway and Kansas City Southern Lines, who died Wednesday at Couchwood, his summer home on Lake Katherine near Hot Springs, Ark., for burial. Mr. Couch lived in Winnfield thirty-some-odd years ago. He was connected with the local creosote company and later established the first telephone exchange in Winnfield. (Note: If correct, I recall reading in Mr. Harley Bozeman's work that Mr. Couch was instrumental in the formation of Louisiana Power & Light and Arkansas Power & Light utility companies. He was also known as "the master builder." Submitted by Greggory Ellis Davies, Winnfield, Winn Parish, LA.)
