All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 8, 1938 Winn Parish Enterprise Beulah Citizen Succumbs To Long Illness Last Rites For Mrs. Andrew Couch Held At Guin Cemetery Funeral services for Mrs. Andrew "Doc" Couch were held Wednesday, September 7, under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home with Rev. R. M. Doughty of Tullos officiating. Interment was made in the Guin Cemetery. She had been in ill health for about four years. Mrs. Couch, before her marriage to Andrew Couch, was Miss Lizzie Stringer. Mrs. Couch was married to Mr. Couch in 1888 and to this union were born six children, five surviving. She was united to the Cross Roads Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member until death. The services were largely attended, attesting to the popularity of the deceased and her grave was covered with numerous floral offerings, the final tribute of hosts of friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. E. R. Curry, Mrs. Roy White, of Curry; three sons, Mr. Will Couch, Mr. Luther Couch, of Curry; and Mr. Newton Couch of Tallulah; one brother, Mr. Walter Stringer of Gaars Mill and four sisters, Mrs. W. P. Pendarvis and Mrs. Katie Wilson of Curry; Mrs. Zealie Couch of Winnsboro and Mrs. Lizer Maxwell of Zion. Pallbearers were Cecil Couch, Elbert Couch, Ernest Curry, Clifford Hallmark, Joel Strange, Geo. Hoppins, R. E. McCartney, and Lee Murell.
