Cowan, 63, native of Turnertown, Tex., who died suddenly at a local recreation center Saturday night, Nov. 1, were held Monday at 4 p.m. from the chapel of McCook Brothers Funeral Home, Shreveport. The deceased early Saturday night had come here to visit his son, R. E. Cowan, an employee of Schulumberger Well Surveying Corporation. Upon death the body was taken to the Walsh Funeral Home here and Sunday morning it was transferred to Shreveport for burial. Survivng the deceased are his son, R. E., Winnfield; widow, Mrs. T. R. Cowan, three daughters, Mrs. W. R. Wagner, Kilgore, Texas; Mrs. Francis Harrison of Lafayette, La., and Mrs. B. W. Whiting of Youngstown, Ohio, and a brother, J. T. Cowan of Atlanta, GA. Services were conducted by the Rev. W. H. Griswold, pastor of the Central Christian Church, Shreveport.
