Franklin Pearce and the Rev. E. B. Barton officiating. Burial was in the Guin Cemetery near Winnfield. Mr. Cox died at 3 a.m. Monday, December 31, 1973 in the Hardtner Medical Cemetery at Urania after a short illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Cox of Tullos; five daughters, Mrs. Rachel Sanders of Natchitoches, Mrs. Darlene Vines of Jonesboro, Mrs. Evie Vail of Tullos, Mrs. Tishel Vail and Mrs. Shirley Manley, both of Jena; three sons, David Cox and Herbert Cox, both of Tullos, and James Cox of Dodson; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Couch of Tullos, Mrs. Ray Butler of Gibsland, and Mrs. Addie Hallmark of Port Arthur, Tex.; three brothers, Wesley Cox of Tullos, Jake Cox of Charleston, S. C., and Chester Cox of Winnfield; and eight grandchildren.
