Last rites for Thomas Crain, 83, of Sikes, were held Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at Sikes Baptist Church. Mr. Crain died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday. The services were under the direction of Rev. Edward Smith, pastor of the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church, with burial in Sikes Cemetery, under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Crain was a native of Arkansas and has made his home in the Sikes Community for many years. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by five sons, Elzie Crain of Sikes, Sidney Crain of Chatham, Hansford Crain of Fresno, Calif., Jessie Crain of Pollock, and Johnny Crain of Alexandria; five daughters, Mrs. Eula Parker of Sikes, Mrs. Valeria Wood of Alexandria, Mrs. Edna Miller of Sikes, Mrs. Eva Carrol of Bentley, Mrs. Ruby Gunn of Bentley; one sister, Mrs. Lula Adams of Shreveport; 32 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
