Crain, better known as "Uncle Buddy" died at his home near Sikes, Louisiana last Friday afternoon, April 23. He was stricken with paralysis on the fourth Sunday in March and at the time of his death he was 79 years, 10 months, and 11 days old. He was born in Columbia County, Arkansas, June 12, 1857, but moved to Winn Parish when about 12 years of age and has lived near Sikes, La. since that time. He united with the Fellowship Baptist Church while young and was a devout Christian and church worker ___________. He was liked by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. ___________________ married to Miss Sarah Sikes on January 8, 1880 and to this union nine children were born, eight of whom survive. They are Mrs. W. L. Prince, Mrs. Iona Young, Mrs. I. D. Crain, and Mr. W. A. Crain of Sikes, La.; Mrs. E. C. Adams, Monroe, La.; Mrs. J. L. Womack, Dodson; Mrs. R. C. Johnson, Wyatt, La. He is also survived by thirty-two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were in charge of Rev. J. D. Mize, pastor of the Fellowship Church and Edmonds Funeral Home. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Kermit Crain, Oswald Adams, Marvin Crain, Gaylord Young, R. D. Young, and W. Ross Prince.
