Rush Crain, Native of Sikes, Dies Of Heart Attack

Rush Crain, 44, a native of Sikes, La., died suddenly last Sunday after
suffering a heart attack while eating dinner in a caf‚ in Pine Bluff, Ark.,
where he had been employed in war work only a short while.  His body was sent
to the home of his wife's sister, Mrs. Bob Thomas, in Winnfield, Tuesday, and
was carried to Sikes Wednesday morning for burial.

Funeral services were conducted at the Sikes Baptist Church at 10 a.m.
Wednesday by W. S. Emmons of Sikes.  Interment was made in the Sikes Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charlie Thompson, Fred Evans, Fleet Herring, Dave Simmons, L.
B. Hinton, and B. E. Thigpen, all of Sikes.

Mr. Crain has been residing in Texas for the past twenty-five years and at the
time of his death his home was Dallas.  He was born and reared at Sikes, La.,
and at one time was a resident of Winnfield.

He is survived by his wife, the former Thelma Colwell; one son, R. E. Crain,
Jr., who is serving with the U. S. Navy somewhere in the Southwest Pacific; a
daughter, Mrs. Donald Armstrong, of Middleton, Ohio; his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
A. J. Crain and one sister, Mrs. J. W. Walker, all of Sikes; a brother,
Alfred Jackson Crain of Orange, Texas; and one grandchild.
