All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: December 27, 1934 Winn Parish Enterprise Victim of Shot From Rifle Buried At Pleasant Hill Huey Thomas Crawford, 11 years of age, who died at a hospital in Shreveport, Monday, from a wound caused by a bullet from a 22 rifle, a gift to one of his playmates, was buried at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Winnfield Tuesday afternoon. The boy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Crawford, now residents of East Point, formerly lived in Winnfield where Mr. Crawford was employed by the Tremont and Gulf Railway Company. The boy slumped and fell from a new red bicycle he had just received for Christmas when his playmate's small rifle, also a present, accidentally discharged. He was rushed to a Shreveport hospital where he died several hours later. Besides his parents, the child is survived by one brother, H. M.; three sisters, Mrs. H. L. Prescott of Shreveport, Mrs. J. C. Harvey and Mrs. Ada May Peters, of East Point.
