I. Charles Creel, 58, of Beaumont, Texas, were held at the Old Union Baptist Church Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. D. W. McDaniel, the Rev. John Ingougf and the Rev. Lester Stott officiating. The Rev. Creel, native of Winn Parish and former Shreveport postal clerk and pastor, died in a Beaumont hospital Thursday of last week. He worked for the Shreveport post office from 1923 to 1943 and was pastor of a church there. He spent 10 years teaching in Winnfield before moving to Shreveport. Graveside Masonic rites were held at Old Union Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ettie Boyett Creel of Beaumont; two sons, Lyndon Creel of Shreveport and Charles Creel of Joyce; three daughters, Mrs. Opal Carrick of Minneapolis, Minn., Miss Roma Creel of Alexandria, and Mrs. Sue King of Orange, Texas; a brother, Riley M. Creel of Joyce, and a sister, Mrs. W. P. Holly of Sikes.
