Crippen Succumbs Here Tuesday, A. M. Paralysis Victim For 12 Years Is Claimed By Death Suffering a stroke of paralysis twelve years ago, which resulted in impaired health since, D. C. "Dad" Crippen, 87 years, died at the home of his son, J. W. Crippen, Tuesday morning at 2:30 o'clock. Funeral services were held at the home with the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Presbyterian Church and Dr. B. C. Land, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were A. L. Smith, O. Trahan, G. R. Weaver, of Ringgold, L. C. Carter, Paul Harrell, and J. F. McMurry. Mr. Crippen has been living with his son here since he suffered the stroke 12 years ago. At one time prior to this he was employed here by the Mansfield Lumber Company. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mattie Crippen of DeBerry, Texas; and the following sons: J. W., Virgil, Jim, and Frank Crippen of Winnfield; Oscar Crippen of DeBerry, Texas; Claude Crippen of Alto, Texas; and Willie Stell of Falco, Texas.
