Four local residents, Mrs. Willie Goodwin, Jim Crippen, Virgil Crippen, and Frank Crippen, were called to Nacogdoches early this week by the death of their brother, Oscar Franklin Crippen, who was instantly killed Monday night when the entire load of logs from a log truck fell upon him, crushing him to death. The logs fell on the 53 year old resident of Nacogdoches when the chain holding them on the truck broke. Surviving the deceased are his widow; two children, Mrs. Edith Lawless of Houston and John D. Crippen of Orange; his mother, Mrs. Mattie Crippen, Nacogdoches; and his sister and three brothers of Winnfield.
