C. Crippen Held Tuesday PM Passes 87th Birthday on Dec. 15; Lived With Son Here D. C. Crippen, age 87, died at the home of his son, J. W. Crippen, here Monday night. The deceased passed his 87th birthday on December 15, 1938. He had made his home here with his son, J. W. Crippen for the past 12 years, coming here from Texas. He was a member of the Baptist church. Funeral services were held at the home of J. W. Crippen Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock conducted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, assisted by Dr. B. C. Land of the First Baptist Church. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Surviving him are his widow, who resides at DeBerry, Texas, five sons, J. W. Crippen, Virgil Crippen and Frank Crippen, of Winnfield; Oscar Crippen, DeBerry, Texas, Claud Crippen, Alto, Texas, and one daughter, Mrs. Willie Steel, of _____, Texas, one brother, George Crippen, Lukin, Texas.
