All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: December 19, 1946 Winn Parish Enterprise Jessie Wayne Crain, 39, a resident of Dodson, Route One, and native of Winn Parish, passed away at a hospital in Monroe on Saturday, December 14, after a short illness. Funeral services for the deceased were held at the Hurricane Grove Church and interment was in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery, Sunday, December 15. The Rev. Dyess, of Boyce, conducted the final services. Southern Funeral Home was in charge of the last rites. Mr. Crain was born and reared at Sikes and was well known throughout Winn Parish. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Hurricane Grove. Jessie Wayne Crain was married to Miss Vina McCarty at Sikes on March 29, 1930. The couple later moved to Dodson to make their home. The deceased is survived by his widow; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Crain, of Sikes; three brothers, Floyd and James of Sikes, and Harvey of El Dorado, Ark.; four sisters, Mrs. Arah Womack and Mrs. Merle West of Oak Grove, Mrs. Margie Lawrence of West Monroe, and Miss Ann Crain, of Sikes; and two children, James and Bonnie Crain of Dodson. His death occurred one day before his fortieth birthday. Pallbearers were O. N. Simmons, S. J. Smith, G. E. Walker, Hilbert Walker, and Elzie Adams.
