Crowe Maxwell T. Crowe, age 92, of 301 North St. John Street, Winnfield, Louisiana, died January 15, 1991 in Humana Hospital Winnfield, Louisiana, after a lengthy illness. He was born September 21, 1898 in Bradley, Mississippi. Mr. Crowe was a former teacher and coach in secondary schools and was retired from the civil service as assistant postmaster in Winnfield. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in France during World War I. Mr. Crowe was a member of the Crusaders for Christ Sunday School class at the First Methodist Church were he was a member. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mattie Jackson Crowe; one son, Dr. Max Crowe and wife, Evelyn, of Paris, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Cheryl Adams and husband, Delane, of Winnfield, La.; Susan Clark and husband, Carlton, of Rayville, La.; Lauren Redfern and husband, Bobby, of Danville, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. John Broaddus of Culpepper, Virginia; one sister in law, Mrs. Shirley Jackson of Winnfield, La.; and three great grandchildren. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 1991 in the First United Methodist Church of Winnfield with the Rev. Steve Caraway officiating. Interment was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Winnfield, La., under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Kiah Beville, L. L. Brewton III, Benny Long, Lawrence C. Morris, Mike Spangler, Sidney Walton. Honorary pallbearers were the Crusaders for Christ Sunday School class of the First United Methodist Church.
