C. "Aunt Penny" Carter, 84, who died Saturday at 9:40 p.m. at the home of her son, E. K. Carter, Calvin, were conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Sanders Chapel Church with Rev. Grafton Shaw and Rev. Ed Smith officiating. Burial was in the church cemtery. Acting as pallbearers were J. W. Maxey, Herbert Leslie Graham, Joe Ed Shelton, Bobby Rhymes, James Edward Rhymes, and Larry Lynn Carpenter. A native of the Calvin community, she had resided at the same home for the past 69 years, and had been a member of the Sanders Chapel Church since she was 15 years old. She was the former Penny Wilson. Surviving are four sons, E. K. and B. R. of Calvin, J. G. and R. B. of Kinder, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Cecil Rhymes, Joyce, Mrs. Ella Quarles, Jackson Parish, and Mrs. Lou Maxey of Calvin; one sister, Miss Trudie Wilson of Calvin; 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.
