D. Carter Mrs. Alma Carson Carter, wife of E. D. Carter, died at the Baptist Hospital in Alexandria Saturday, November 26th, at 10:15 a.m. Alma was the youngest of four children of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Carson, who died when she was an infant. She was reared by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Bates. On January 5th, 1927, she was married to Mr. E. D. Carter, of Calvin. To this union were born one child, who survives her just as a flower is loveliest in the morning, when it is sparkling in dew. So was life for Alma, so young and full of hope; so ambitious, anxious to reach up and climb high that her family and many friends might be proud of her. A true wife and a devoted mother. No higher eulogy can be pronounced upon any woman. Truly, the great central sun of your household has gone down and I most truly and deeply sympathize with you in your affliction. Let us hope, however, that in the golden summer of another life, child, mother, and father will gather again in sweet reunion, where partings are unknown. The days seem dark and gloomy to you now, but sunshine will come to you through your child, and friends, and the future, I trust, has much in store for you.
