Death Claims Mother of Mrs. Cheston Stevens

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel ?. Carter, 49, Trout, who died in a Shreveport
sanitarium, January 16, were held at 4 p.m. Monday at the Urania Methodist
Church.  The Rev. Cain, pastor of Haughton, conducted the last rites.  Burial
was in the Pine Hill Cemetery.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene Carter; four daughters, Mrs. Cheston Stevens
of Couley, Mrs. Grant Witty, Mrs. Ira Strother, of Lafayette, and Miss Matalie
Carter of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. R. B. Bayne of Urania and five
grandchildren.
