F. Cummings Of Monroe, La. Mother of Mrs. J. Peters Of Winnfield Suffers Heart Attack Mrs. W. F. Cummings, widow of the late W. F. Cummings, died at her home, 902 Walnut Street, Monroe, Friday night following a brief illness. Funeral services were conducted at the residence at 9 a.m., Saturday, with the Rev. E. F. Hayward, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, officiating. Immediately following the services at the home the body was taken to Memphis, Tenn., where cremation took place. Pallbearers at the services were R. McWilliams, Henry Bernstein, Jr., C. D. Oakley, C. E. McKenzie, Fred Hudson, and Jack Rogers. Mrs. Cummings is survived by one son, Gordon Cummings; a daughter, Mrs. John J. Peters, Winnfield; a brother, H. P. Hall, Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Charles T. McCord and Mrs. C. H. Oswald, of Monroe, and six grandchildren. Mrs. Cummings was before her marriage Miss Katherine Hall, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. She married Mr. Cummings in November, 1894. She had resided in Monroe with her family for almost 40 years and was beloved by hundreds of friends. She contributed generously to many charities in an unostentatious manner. Although she was not a member of the various philanthropic organizations of the city, she gave unstintedly of her efforts and her funds in behalf of the active charities of Ouachita Parish. Mrs. Cummings suffered a heart attack Monday of last week and her condition steadily grew worse. Her many friends kept in constant touch with the family and when her death became known, many messages were received at the residence.
