Jeff Curry, 83, Dies Tuesday in Local Hospital

Funeral services for T. J. "Uncle Jeff" Curry, 83 of Sikes, were held at 2
p.m.  He died Tuesday morning at a local hospital from the effects of a heart
attack suffered about two months ago.

Rev. Edward Smith assisted by Rev. H. J. Mott, conducted the funeral held in
Hurricane Grove Baptist Church.  Burial was in James Cemetery under direction
of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Curry, a native of Alabama, had been a farmer in the Brister Community
for about 45 years.  He was a former Mason, and a member of the Union Grove
Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lou Curry of Sikes; five sons, Elton of
Sikes, D. J. and D. A. of Winnfield, M. W. and S. K. of Baton Rouge; two
daughters, Mrs. Ola Abrams, of Sikes, and Mrs. P. E. Jennings, of Baton Rouge;
30 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Faye Jennings, Abram Jennings, J. T. Jennings, Shelby Curry,
P. E. Jennings, and L. C. Curry.
