W. Curry Held Near Dubach Last rites for Earnest W. Curry, age 55, who died July 15, 1943, at his home here, were held at the Winnfield First Baptist Church Friday afternoon at two o'clock, followed by interment in the Sharon Cemetery near Dubach. The Rev. H. H. McBride, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, had charge of the services. Acting as pallbearers were Shirley Jackson, F. O. Lattier, John Lofton, Bob McQuirk, Cecil Holstead, Bryant Sholars, Leon Carter, and A. L. Ladner. Born in Welmington, Kansas, Mr. Curry came to Winnfield eight years ago from Gould, Ark., where he was engaged in the mercantile business. For the past five years he has been local agent for the Alexandria Town Talk and for six years he has represented the Louisiana Monument Co. In ill health for several years, he suffered a stroke two weeks prior to his death. He is survived by his widow, two sons, George Curry of Baton Rouge and Max Allen Curry of Winnfield; mother, Mrs. George W. Curry of Memphis, Tenn, and one sister, Mrs. Herbert Green of Memphis, Tenn., and one brother, Grover Curry of Smackover, Ark.
