J. Curry, 83 Long Time Resident of Near Sikes Dies After Long Illness Funeral services were held at the James Cemetery near Sikes at 2 p.m. Wednesday for T. J. Curry, of near Sikes, who died in a local hospital Tuesday, May 27, 1952 following a long illness. Rites were conducted by the Reverends Edward Smith and H. J. Mott, and interment was under direction of the Southern Funeral home. Pallbearers included Riley Abrams, Faye Abrams, J. T. Jennings, Shelly Curry, P. E. Jennings, and L. C. Curry. A resident of near Sikes for approximately 45 years, Mr. Curry was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church and of the Masonic fraternity. He is survived by his wife and five sons, Elton N. Curry of Sikes, D. J. and D. A. Curry of Winnfield, and M. W. and S. K. Curry of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Mrs. Ola Abrams of Sikes and Mrs. P. E. Jennings of Baton Rouge; thirty grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
