Jessie James Carpenter

Funeral services for Jessie James Carpenter will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
October 28, 1998 in the Welcome Home Baptist Church, near Dodson.  Revs. Terry
Bartley and Lester Carpenter will officiate.  Burial will follow in the
Welcome Home Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Carpenter, age 76, of Dodson, La., died Tuesday, October 27, 1998 in the
Winn Parish Medical Center.  He was a Winn Parish native, a veteran of World
War II, U. S. Army, and was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church.

Survivors are three sons, James Eugene Carpenter and Gary Van Carpenter, both
of Dodson, and Arthur Gwen Carpenter of Olla, La.; two sisters, Ruth
LaFollette of Dodson, La., and Irene McNealy of Winnfield, La.; 9
grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit in the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and from
1 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the church on Wednesday.
