R. B. Carter, Former Winn Juror, Dies

Funeral services for Robert B. Carter, 83, of Calvin, were held at 2 p.m.
Wednesday at the Calvin Baptist Church with Brother Eugene F. Love
officiating.  Burial was at Sanders Chapel Cemetery under direction of
Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Carter died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, May 21, 1973 in a local hospital after
a long illness.

He was a native of Calvin, a retired heavy equipment operator, a former police
jury member from Ward 8, and a member of the Calvin Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, R. C. Carter of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs.
Leon Carpenter of Calvin and Mrs. Arline Teer of Houston, Tex.; two sisters,
Mrs. Willie Rhymes of Winnfield and Mrs. Ella Quarles of Calvin; six
grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
