Funeral services Held For Rev. A. Carpenter At Wattsville Sunday

Funeral services for the Rev. Alexander Carpenter, 75 years of age, who died
at his home in Wattsville Saturday were held at the Wattsville Baptist church
Sunday, with the Rev. Spencer Ray in charge.  A large number of people
attended the last rites.

Rev. Carpenter was a well known Baptist minister, having been in the ministry
for the past 42 years.  He was a lifelong resident of this parish and
was at one time a merchant in his community.

The deceased is survived by his wife, three sons, and four daughters, one of
whom is Mrs. J. C. Megison of Ward Eight.
