Calhoun, 49, Sikes Native, Dies In Texas Funeral services for Sherwood Calhoun, 49, of West Monroe, were held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home of West Monroe. The Revs. John Reynaud and Don Wineinger officiated with burial following in Roselawn Memorial Gardens near Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun died Tuesday, April 11, 1972 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Tex., after a short illness. He was a veteran of World War II, an employee of Olinkraft, a Sikes native, and attended Sikes High School. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillian Calhoun of West Monroe; three sons, Donald L. Calhoun, Roger D. Calhoun, and Jerry Wayne Calhoun, all of West Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Watson, Miss Caroline Ann Calhoun, and Miss Docie Mae Calhoun, all of West Monroe; his father, H. M. Calhoun of Sikes; his stepmother, Mrs. Jewell Calhoun of Sikes; seven brothers, James F. Calhoun, David E. Calhoun, H. R. Calhoun, H. M. Calhoun, E. R. Calhoun, R. D. Calhoun, all of West Monroe, John C. Calhoun of Dubach; seven sisters, Mrs. Homer Young of Sinton, Tex., Mrs. Coster Archibald of San Lorenzo, Calif., Mrs. Al Pilgrim of West Monroe, Mrs. Catholine Brister of West Monroe, Mrs. Ollie V. Tietje of Roanoke, Mrs. Virginia Campbell of Monroe, Mrs. June Strange of Columbia; one grandchild, Rebecca Watson of West Monroe.
