Mrs. Taylor, age 78 of Winnfield, LA died at 5:15 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001 in the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winnfield, LA; member of the Lamplighters Sunday School Class and was retired from the Manville Lumber Company. Doherty was a graduate of Winnfield Senior High School, attended La Tech University and was a graduate of Florida Community College. He was a service representative for Integrated Technology Services of IBM after serving in the U. S. Navy. She is survived by her daughter Marilynn C. Lewis, son-in-law James E. Lewis and grandson, James B. Lewis and her niece Judy Fairchild East, Natchitoches, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin W. Crowley of Monroe, LA; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Key of Jonesboro, LA; one brother, Joe G. Key of Jonesboro, LA; and one sister, Helen Key Fairchild of Monroe, LA. A longtime resident of Monroe, she and her husband retired to their lake home in Winn Parish in the late 1980's. She was a charter member of Parkview Baptist Church, Monroe, where she served in many capacities over the years. While in Winn Parish she belonged to Sanders Methodist Church in Calvin. She had a particular love for children and memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe. He was a Winn Parish native, a member of Union Baptist Church ,retired form Winn Rock after 28 years, worked for the Winn Parish School Board for five years, worked as an electrician and air conditioning repairman for many years, was a Veteran of World War II and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was 73 years of age. He was born in Shreveport, LA on March 21, 1928. He was a graduate of C. E. Byrd High School and attended Centenary College and Tulane University. He was a graduate of the Tulane University School of Law in 1951. In addition to a long career in the private practice of law, he also served as City Judge for Winnfield. Most recently, he served as an Assistant District Attorney for Winn Parish up until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Marian Yvonne Price Sanders. He is survived by one son, Martin Smith Sanders III, and one grandson, Martin Smith Sanders IV, both of Winnfield. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Orphanage Circle, and a long time member of the Winnfield Pilot Club.
