Mrs. Brantley, age 46 of Winnfield, LA, died at 7:18 Friday, July 27, 2001 at LSUMC, Shreveport. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2001 at Shaw Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Kirkland and Rev. Charles Jolly officiating. Mr. Robinson was born on December 18, 1914 in Mize, Mississippi to William Allen and Mary Ida Glisson Robinson. He married Hazel Parker on February 8, 1947 in Bay Minette, Alabama. He moved to the Delta in the early 1940's where, for a short time, he was the owner and operator of a country store in Choctow. Later, for more than 45 years, Woody, as he was better known by his friends and neighbors, was a Delta Cotton Farmer. He was a member of the Shaw Baptist Church, Benoit Outing Club, and Huntington Point Hunting Club. He will be remembered by his children and grandchildren as a dedicated and loving father and grandfather, and by his friends as compassionate and caring, leaving no material possessions because he generously gave them all away. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Parker Robinson; four sons, Jack Hale Jr., Dan Robinson, Alan Wayne Robinson, and an infant son; his parents, William and Mary Ida Robinson and a brother, Otis Robinson. Mrs. Richards moved to Winnfield in 1952 from Picayune, Mississippi with her husband, Conley "Pete" Lisenbea and four children. She was a beautician and owner of Dot's Beauty Shop for over thirty years. She was a active member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church where she taught the Beginners Sunday School Class for many years and was recognized by the congregation for her devotion to the children of the church family. At the time of her death she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a resident of Autumn Leaves Nursing Home She is survived by her four children, Dorothy Jeannette Lisenbea of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Merle Hammons of the Gansville Community, Andrea Martin of Winnfield, and Conley P. Lisenbea, Jr. of Delhi, LA.; ten grandchildren, three step grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and eight step great grandchildren. Batts and Minnieola Pollock Batts who preceded her in death. The family moved to Winnfield, Louisiana where she was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Martha, who was affectionately known to her friends and [as] Louise, married her high school sweetheart, Henry A. Gray, on August 18, 1963 in Winnfield. Louise graduated with the second highest GPA from Pinecrest High School in Winnfield and in 1963 she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern University Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She immediately began her teaching career in 1969, was awarded a Masters Degree in Mathematics from Eastern Washington University in Cheney. In addition to teaching English, Physical Education, and coaching Basketball, Louise taught mathematics in Alexandria, Louisiana, Moses Lake, Spokane and Seattle Washington. As an educator for 38 years, Louise was constantly seeking new ways to provide excellence in educating the young people in her charge. She received many awards and in 1993 because of her exceptional leadership, contributions and commitment to education, was awarded the Christa McAuliffe Outstanding Teacher Recognition Award, by the state of Washington. Louisiana [Louise] was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and was active in Links Inc. and served as the third president of the Spokane Chapter. Louise and Hank were foster parents to Torrence Jackson who has been their "Son" since 1984. She as preceded in death by one brother, Larry Hatten. Louise leaves Hank, her beloved husband of 38 years, sisters, Mattie Alexander and Jessie Dyas (Floyd) and two brothers, Robert Batts (Claudia), Greg Batts (Mary), sister-in-law Mary Collins, and brothers-in-law Nat Harden (Emma) and Roy Harden, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, students and friends. Other special people who shared Louise's life were her very special nephew Jarvis Jones and his family and her adopted family, Lilly, Lisa and Maya Collins.
