She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Collins was retired from the Bank of Winnfield, a member of United Methodist Women, and the AARP as well. Interment followed at Centuries Memorial Park under the direction of Osborn Funeral Home.*********************** FORMER EDITOR DIES Jimmy Hatten, Sikes native and longtime editor at the Monroe News-Star, died suddenly at his home Monday, January 31. He was 68. Hatten had worked at the Monroe paper for 40 years, retiring in 2001 after serving as editorial page editor, managing editor and state editor covering northeast Louisiana. For about a year following his retirement, he wrote a weekly column in the Enterprise entitled "Hindsight" describing his memories of the Sikes area. He also published the annual "Sikes Historian" from 2001-2004. Arrangements were incomplete but will be handled by Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe.
