Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29. 1999 at Full Gospel Christian Center in Jonesboro with Rev. Ron Brown, Rev. Gene Brown, Rev. Kelvin Clark and Rev. Bill Staples officiating. Burial was in the Beech Springs Cemetery, near Quitman, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mrs. Maxwell was a member of Monroe Church of God. She was dedicated to the Lord and served Him Faithfully for many years. she was employed in the shoe department of Wal-Mart in Winnfield and had also worked for many years in the Jonesboro Wal-Mart. Mrs. Maxwell is survived by four sisters, Marie Clark and husband Riley; Glenda Hughes both of West Monroe; Avis Sanderson and husband Buck of Choudrant; Margie Poisso of Winnfield; one brother, J. W. Hughes and wife Yvonne of West Monroe; special friends, Charlene Knapp and Ronnie DelRio of West Monroe. Also many nieces, nephews and other friends. she was preceded in death by her husband Otis W. Maxwell and her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hughes. Pallbearers were: Bobby Poisso, Billy Haisty, Mike Reed, Darrell Clark, W. D. Shows and Cleasey Futrell. She was a Winn Parish native and a member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church, retired from Parker Thompson Wholesale as a bookkeeper. Survivors are one daughter, Beth Cockerham Greer and husband Carl of Winnfield; one step-daughter Emogene Cockerham Cox and husband John of Natchitoches; 11 grand children and a number of great grandchildren. She was a special angel to everyone who knew her and will be dearly missed. Broussard Glen R. Broussard died Sunday, June 20, 1999 in the Winn Parish Medical Center. He was born November 29, 1932. He was a native of Baton Rouge and attended Istrouma High School and Louisiana State University. He was active in the Nazarene Church of Winnfield. He was an accountant and he held various positions in that field. He was a veteran of the Korean war and served in the US Air Force. Survivors include two daughters, Valerie Royer of Hixson, TN and Brenda Scrimager of Little Rock, AR; one granddaughter, Adrienne Royer of Hixson, TN; and one brother, Walter Broussard of Alexandria. Memorial services will be held at the Winnfield Nazarene Church and St. Margaret's Episcopal Church of Little rock, AR. Leland was a native and life-long resident of Shreveport, LA. He was a 1989 graduate of Southwood High School. His interests included his work as a machinist, as well as being an avid fisherman and hunter. Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Cranford and Hazel McDaniel, and great grandparents Tom and Tiny Carson and Manuel McDaniel.
