Walker Services were conducted at Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel for Paul Walker, age 64, of Bossier City, LA on Thursday, June 1, 2000 at 2 p.m. Officiating was Rev. Kenneth Stanfill, assisted by Rev. Jeffrey Stanfill. Interment followed in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Mr. Walker entered into rest on Sunday, May 28, 2000 after a sudden illness. He was a native of Dodson, LA and lived in Bossier City for 35 years. He was a retired independent businessman. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Aiko Walker; his children, Mary Ann Rose of Palm Harbor, FL, Marcia Moss and husband Marty of Shreveport, LA, Angie Barrera and husband Miguel of Bossier City, LA, Joe Walker and wife Janet of Elm Grove, LA; his is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Stanfill and husband Kenneth of Winnfield, LA and Hazel Walker of Shreveport, LA; one brother, James Walker and wife Doretha of Winnfield, LA; six grandchildren, Dawn, Dustin, Daniel, Dalton, Christian and Harlee. H. W. Smith and Philip Cockerham officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories. Mrs. Lofton, age 93 of Winnfield died Monday, May 29, 2000 in the Winn Parish Medical Center. She was a member of East Winnfield Baptist Church. Survivors are one brother, Ozie Riley of Winnfield and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband W. E. Lofton. A native of Winnfield, LA he was son of the late Bluford Leon Upton and Dottie James Upton. An Army Veteran of World War II, he was a retired inspector with the U.S. Border Patrol and the U. S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. He was a graduate of Winnfield High School and a graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Mr. Upton served as Staff Minister and deacon of First Assembly of God in Tullahoma, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, B. L. Upton and two sisters, Jewell Jordan and Eris Newsom. He is survived by his wife, Louise Upton, Tullahoma, TN; a daughter, Debbie Upton, Tullahoma, LA [TN]; a son, Ed Upton, Fort Worth, TX; and five grandchildren, Vickie, Esther, Kirt, Josh and Destiny. She was a native of Sikes, a homemaker and nurse's aide, a member of Dodson First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rushel Kelly, one son, James Rushe Kelly and one daughter, Loretta Griffin, one sister, Myrtis Pilley and one brother, C. E. He was a native of Natchitoches, a former air condition and refrigeration teacher at Louisiana Technical College Winnfield campus and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Winnfield. He was preceded in death by his mother, Allene Dunn Cooper. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Dove Cooper of Natchitoches; two daughters, Angela K. Cooper of Houston, TX and Joy Shantell Humpheries of Winnfield; father, H. C. James Simons officiating. Mr. Culp, age 75 of Winnfield, LA, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000 in his residence. Mr. Culp was preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine Culp Frye. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He retired from the Railroad after 17 and half years of service. After retirement he worked with Olin Kraft Maintenance until the closing of the plant. Survivors are two sons: Reynaldo Ayala, Jr. and Jose Ayala, both of Winnfield, LA; two daughters, Rachel Gonzales of Santa Barbara, CA and Ruth Cox of Cassopolts, MI; five brothers; two sisters; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
