Richard DeBusk, Dr. Calvin Phelps and Rev. Lloyd Whitman officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Joyce. LA. Feger, 72 of Winnfield, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001 in his residence. His parents, George Feger, Sr. and Anna Menges Feger of Memphis, TX, preceded him in death. He served in the U. S. Navy aboard the U.S.S Yancy and the U.S.S. Jason and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. George was the Sales Manager for KVCL Radio Station & Harrison Broadcasting Co. He had been a resident of Winnfield for 34 years. Survivors include his wife. Virginia Wilkerson Feger of Winnfield, two daughters, Rita Munson McCarty of Katy, TX and Sandra Munson DeBusk of Dry Prong, LA and four (4) grandchildren and six (6) great grandchildren. Robertson, former chaplain of St. George's Episcopal School in New Orleans, officiating. Mr. Gafford, age 86, of West Monroe, LA and recently of Memphis, TN, died Saturday, May 26, 2001 in Memphis. Born November 4, 1914 in Athens, Texas, Mr. Gafford grew up in Athens and attended Athens High School. He and his wife lived in various cities during their marriage, including New Orleans LA, Rossville TN and Jacksonville FL. He was in the petroleum industry as a surveyor during the WW II years and later as owner of Sun marine, and Arch N. Gafford Marine Service, and as a crew boat Captain in the Gulf of Mexico. A small aircraft enthusiast, he loved to fly. At age 75, despite having vision in only one eye and a special restricted medical certificate, he qualified for a private pilot's license requiring the approval of a FAA inspector. Survivors are one daughter, Judy G. Boston of Memphis, TN; two granddaughters, Beth Boston of Knoxville, TN and Dr. Bren Boston of New Orleans, LA; and one sister, Anna Mary Tolk of Tyler, TX. His wife of 57 years, Dollie Mae Head Gafford and his parents, Archie Gilliam Gafford and Winnie Bass Gafford preceded him in death. Mrs. Cathey, age 74 of Dodson, LA died Friday, June 8, 2001 in her residence following a lengthy illness. Navy serving in World War II and was a retired district foreman for the State of LA Hwy. Dept.
