Burial will be in the Old Union Cemetery in Joyce, LA under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Mrs. Baker 41, of Winnfield, died Saturday May 29, 2004, in the Winn Parish Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Tammy was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church and the W.M.U. She was also a member of Palestine Chapter #55 Winnfield and Crescent Chapter #64 Jonesboro Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Homemaker and looking forward for her first grandchild. She is survived by her husband Robert Baker; two daughters Misty Holmes and Megan Dabbs and former husband James Dabbs all of Winnfield. She is also survived by her parents Luther and Peggy Busby of Winnfield; one brother Gary Busby of Winnfield; and one sister Mary Guidry of Ruston. She had two stepsons Chris Baker of Natchitoches and Jason Baker of Ft. Hood, Texas. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Dabbs, Donald Dabbs, Christopher Dabbs, Jason Holmes, Jerrod Holmes and Matthew Rachel. Wilkins Zettie Mae Bolton Wilkins, 95, of Turlock died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Brandel Manor. Mrs. Wilkins was a native of Oak Grove, Louisiana. She met her future husband, Johnny Doyle Wilkins in Winnfield, Winn Parish, Louisiana and also married him in Winnfield on July 4, 1925. She and her family later moved to California. Mrs. Bolton lived in Turlock, California for 54 years. She worked in food processing for 40 years and had worked for Contadina Foods. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Louis Bolton and Celia Emmeline Fox Bolton, her foster parents Samuel Tolbert Fox and Mary Algerine Peters Fox; her husband, Johnny Doyle Wilkins; and one daughter, Margie Doyle Wilkins Lasiter. Funeral services were held at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin and Downs Funeral Home in Turlock, California at 1:30 p.m. Monday. March 29, 2004. Burial was in the Ceres Cemetery in Ceres, California. Nursing Home in Alexandria, LA. He was a private in the Antitank Co. 422nd Infantry with the U.S. Army. He was a WWII veteran of the Battle of the Bulge and a POW in Germany. Mr. Alsup was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Winnfield. He was a former florist and mortician with Mulhearn Funeral Homes in north Louisiana and various funeral homes in Arkansas. He retired from Rock Island Rail Road, was a former employee of Manville Forest Products and a former deputy with the Winn Parish Sheriff's Auxiliary. He also enjoyed full time farming and gardening. He is preceded in death by a daughter Alice Cindy Guin of Winnfield. Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Darryl was a Funeral Director and embalmer serving families for many years throughout the state and Arkansas before becoming the Manager of Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston. He was a Vietnam Veteran Navy Corpsman and saw action while. attached to the USMC 9th Engineering Battalion. Darryl never met a stranger. He loved people, his family and friends, who will remember him as a gentle man and great story teller with keen wit. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother and will be missed by all. Darryl was preceded in death by his father, John Rodney Guidry.
