Tim Lawson officiating. Interment was in Garden of Memories, Winnfield, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Donna Lee May, age 64, passed away at her home, April 20, 2004 after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. May was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winnfield and a long time choir member. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Florida and Louisiana. She had retired from the Winn Parish School System. Donna graduated from South Hills High School, Pittsburgh, PA and was a graduate of Mount Union College, Alliance, Ohio. Until her illness she was a member of Pilot International and Alpha Delta Kappa teachers sorority. Donna was a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Thomas May. She is also survived by her two daughters and their families, Carrie May Simmons, Kevin H. Simmons and sons, Mitchell and Nathan; Amy May St. Andrie and her sons, Benjamin and Beau, her brother, Raymond Thomas Cromilsh and his wife, Ana and their children. In lue [lieu] of flowers contributions may be made to Couley United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.************************ Ernest Monroe Norman, Sr. Ernest Monroe Norman, Sr., age 55, passed away April 17 at Jackson Parish Hospital. He was a truck driver. Services for Mr. Norman were held at 2 p.m., April 19, at the Jonesboro Church of Christ with Brother Freddie Shows officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery near Calvin under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Jonesboro, Louisiana. Survivors include one son, Earnest Norman, Jr., and wife Christy of Jonesboro; two daughters, Amanda Hall and husband Michael of Jonesboro, Pamela Hancock and husband Shad of Leesville: brothers, Mitchell Norman of Montgomery, George Norman of Calvin, John Norman of Goldonna, Roy Norman and Gwinn Norman of Jonesboro; sisters, Barbara Waller, Patsy Newton of Calvin, Martha Moffett of Bastrop; and five grandchildren.************************ Hila Mae Adams McCarty Services for Hila Mae Adams McCarty, 80, of Columbia were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2004 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Mrs. McCarty was born on May 7, 1923 in Winn Parish to the union of Thomas Watson and Ruth Ann Parker Adams and died Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Our Lady of The Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. She was a homemaker and a member of the Columbia Heights Baptist Church. Her parents, her husband, Elzie F. McCarty, and her sons, Jerry McCarty and Tom McCarty, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Chris Clausen of Baton Rouge, her grandchildren, Michael Clausen of Baton Rouge, Kevin McCarty of Lufkin, Texas, Karin McCarty Burback of Shreveport, Adam McCarty and Joe David McCarty both of Monroe and Will McCarty of Columbia, five great- grandchildren and her brother and sister-in-Law, Douglas Delane and Sue Adams of Sikes and her daughters-in-law, Linda Fisher McCarty of Shreveport and Emily Causey McCarty of Columbia. Robbie Smiley, 62, of Odessa, Texas entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Medical Center Hospital, Odessa. She was a native of Odessa, a faithful member of Westover Baptist Church and was an Art teacher for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and sister-in-law. Her father, Robert Leroy McFarland, preceded her in death. Robbie is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Guy E. Smiley, formerly of Winnfield, Odessa, TX; two daughters and husbands, Terryl and Bennie Cope of Goldsmith, TX, and Melody and Tim Herring of Odessa; mother, Jynelle McFarland; one sister and husband, Sandra and Bob Burchfield all of Andrews, Texas; six grandchildren; and a great granddaughter due in June. Local survivors include Ralph and Jackie Henson, Carliene Lee, Louann Smiley, Jim and Neva Barr, Travis Smiley, C.E. and Ann Smiley and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of Atlanta Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was also a member of Eastern Star Lodge #151 F & AM and the Monroe Scottish Rite Bodies. Mr. Worsham is preceded in death by two sisters and brothers. He is the son of the late Robert Worsham and the late Mary (Kolb) Worsham. He is survived by his one sister; Helen Jones of Ruston, LA; one brother, James Worsham of Itasca, Ill. Officiating was Jim Ewing. Interment followed in Centuries Memorial Park. Jimmye was born April 23, 1928 in Sikes, LA and passed away Monday, May 10, 2004 at Christus Schumpert Highland. She graduated from Sikes High School and attended Dodd College in Shreveport. Jimmye and her first husband, the late James Box, owned and operated Blanchard Drugs for over 25 years. A member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, she was a homemaker. Jimmye married a childhood friend, Glenroy Emmons, in 2001. They enjoyed retirement, traveled abroad and all over the United States, and shared time in Shreveport and Hot Springs, Village, AR. Her parents, Dewey and Audie Thornton; first husband, James Box; and brothers, Donald and Dale Thornton preceded her in death. Survivors are her husband, Glenroy Emmons of Hot Springs, Village, AR; son, Ron Box and wife, Marion of Arlington, TX; daughter, LuLu Box Martin and husband, Robb of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Dillon and Cade Cannon and Jorn and Kail Paige; five great grandchildren; sister, Dot Adams and husband, Arlon of Start, LA; brother, Perk Thornton and wife, Bev of Metairie, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was retired from Chevron/Texaco as a Division Order Analysist and from The Picayune Housing Authority. Survivors are her husband, Bobby (Bob) Hatten, Picayune, MS; one son, Timothy Earl Hatten of West Monroe, LA; two daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Hatten Robertson, Bogalusa, LA and Jennifer Hatten Drennan, Slidell, LA.
