Crim in Henderson, TX. Mr. Cheek died Saturday, September 28, 2002 in Minden, LA. He was born August 6, 1935 in Jonesboro, LA. He was a truck driver and owner of Cheek and Son Mobile Home Service and was a member of AOHA. Ralph Ford officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Winnfield. Mrs.. Stroud, age 89 of Pineville, died Monday, October 28, 2002 at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Stroud was retired from the Rapides Parish School Board as a teacher's aide having worked at Pineville Elementary and Acadian Sixth Grade Center. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church of Pineville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Thomas Stroud, and parents, Alfred J. Brewer and Virginia Kidd Brewer. Survivors include one son, Gary T. Stroud of Monroe; one daughter, Brenda Faith McCarty of Pineville; one sister, Jewett Williams of Shreveport; three grandchildren, David McCarty Jr., Todd Baxter McCarty and Ashley Bateman; and three great grandchildren, Michael McCarty, Erik McCarty and Emily McCarty. Pallbearers were: David McCarty, Michael McCarty, Michael Hathorne, Todd McCarty, Reid Bateman and Justin Hinckley.
