Baker Mr. Baker, age 87 of Lexington, NC died Thursday, August 28, 2003 at 7:05 a.m. at his home. He was born in Winn Parish, Louisiana on May 31, 1916 to Columbus Elilus Baker and Violet Higden Baker. He was retired and a Baptist. His wife, Ellen Case Baker and a daughter, Rachel Dinkins preceded in death. Survivors are one son, Ross Baker and wife Pat of Lexington; two daughters, Teresa Wagner and husband Mike of Lexington, NC and Jennifer Gallen and husband John of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren: Ryan Dinkins of Nashville, TN; Brittney Baker and Jack Wagner, both of Lexington, NC and Case Gallen and Kathryn Gallen, both of Jacksonville. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, Percy Roberts Sr. and Virgie H. Roberts and her grandmother and grandfather, Paul and Lula K. Horn, all of Winnfield, LA. She is survived by her husband, Mark Mitchell and children Leah Long Haynes and husband Chris of Haynesville, and Kirk Wayne Long and wife Carol of Denham Springs; Percy Roberts III and Ronnie Roberts of Winnfield; her aunt and uncle Edna and Charles Nash of Shreveport. She graduated from Centenary College and received a Library Science and Masters Degree from Louisiana State University. Rhymes Auto Repair in Winnfield, LA for 29 years. Mr. Rhymes served on the Winn Parish Police Jury from 1976 to 1984. He was also the jury president from 1979 to 1984.
