Darren Miller, James Perry and Brooks Coburn officiating. Burial was held in the Mars Hill Cemetery in Montgomery, LA. Mr. Welch, age 63, of Pineville, LA, died Friday, September 2, 2005 at Huey P. Long Medical Center in Pinevile, LA. He was a native of Augusta, ME. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Welch and Laura Heath Welch. Mr. Welch is survived by his two sons, Joseph Edward Welch and wife Brandie of Alexandria, LA, Cheyenne Michael Welch of Montgomery, LA; his grandson, Nathanial Joseph Welch of Alexandria, LA; and a devoted friend, Laura Crysel of Tioga,LA. "Jimmy" Whisonant, age 75 of Winnfield, Louisiana, died Sunday, September 11, 2005 at Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield. Mr. Whisonant was a native of Starks, Louisiana and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served for 9 years. He was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church in Winnfield. He was the son of the late Walter Clyde Whisonant and Betty Stroud Whisonant. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Barbara Whisonant; one daughter, Carolyn Lang and her husband Jimmie of Atlanta, La.; two sons, Kevin Whisonant and his wife Robin of Winnfield, La. Nathan Whisonant and his wife Michelle of Winnfield, La.; three sisters, Doris Nugent of Winnfield, La., Julie Boyett of Dodson, La., Jackie Eubanks of Gig Harbor, Wash; two brothers, Noah Gilcrease of Winnfield, La., Glen Gilcrease of Winnfield, La.; nine grandchildren, Brandi Whisonant, Erin Price, Amy Whisonant, Kyle Whisonant, Aston Lang, Cade Whisonant, Anna Whisonant, Brooke Zimmerman, and Meagan Zimmerman; four great grandchildren, Caroline and Chloe Whisonant, and Elesa and Ella Price. Funeral services were held at 11 am Tuesday in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Wallace Ingles and Matt Endris officiating. Burial followed in the Winnfield City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. McDavid, age 83, of Joyce, La., passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005, at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Georgetown Lodge #258. He was the son of the late Essie McDavid and the late Minnie (Long) McDavid. He is survived by his wife Lucille McDavid of Joyce, La.; two daughters, Barbara Johns of Tannehill, La, Gloria Folden and her husband Jack of Joyce, La; one son, Gary McDavid and his wife Mary of Joyce, La; seven grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen Jones; two daughters Jeanette Ward and husband Mike, Joni Nava and husband Raul; one grandson Stephen Ward, all of Pasadena, Texas; a half sister, James Faye Scheel of Houston Texas; and a half brother Curtis Michael Jones of Allyn, WA. Memorial services were held Wednesday September 14, at 10:30 a.m. in South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas with Dr. Ron Lyles, pastor, officiating. He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Opal Jones; a sister Cathey Jones of Carthage, Texas; grandparents, Mr. and Mr. Rufus Jones, Atlanta, LA and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sartor of Carthage, Texas. Sammy served in various positions within the city of Pasadena including city marshal, volunteer fireman and arson investigator. Ms. Stewart was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and Peabody College (Vanderbilt). She was a retired Librarian from the Louisiana State Library in Baton Rouge, La. She was the daughter of the late Graham Stewart and the late Fannie (Bell) Stewart. She is survived by her one brother, David L. Stewart of Missouri City, Texas; a sister-in-law, Jo Nell Stewart of Winnfield, La; five nephews, William Bell Stewart, Jr., of Kingwood, Texas,. Mrs. Harrell was retired from South Central Bell and was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield. She was also a member of the Pioneers of America. She was the daughter of the late A. B. Connor, Sr. and the late Bessie (Bonnette) Connor. Mrs. Harrell was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Hovy Harrell, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her one daughter, Sue Ashcroft and husband Don of Springfield, La; two sons, Hovey Harrell and wife Beverly of Natchitoches, La., Chris Harrell and wife Nan of Winnfield, La; one sister, Doris B. Bullion of Alexandria, La; six grandchildren Brandon, Trent, and Trevor Harrell; Michael Ashcroft; Steven and Christie Harrell; one great-grandchild Cody Cryer.
