Mrs. Mangum was born December 22, 1912 in Comanche, Oklahoma to the late James A. Middleton and the late Mary I. (Copeland) Middleton. Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, August 4, 2007 at First Assembly of God in Jonesboro with Reverend Phil Middleton and Reverend David Womack officiating. Interment will be at Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mangum was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde William Dowda; son, Michael Lynn Dowda; four grandchildren; son-in-law, Richard L. Womack and her second husband Johnny Mangum. Mrs. Mangum is survived by two daughters, June Womack of Quitman, Claudia Brown and husband Bill of Ridgecrest, CA.; two sons, Jim Dowda and wife Norma Jean of Spokane Valley, WA., Don Dowda and wife Shelia of La Fayette, GA; daughter-in-law, Georgina Thrasher of Holiday Island, AR.; sixteen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; twenty-six great-great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. ===== Carrol Avon Perkins (January 18, 1938 - August 3, 2007) Guest Book | Mr. Carrol Avon Perkins, age 69, of Montgomery, La., passed away Friday, August 3, 2007, at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La. Mr. Perkins was retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and was a member of the Montgomery Church of Christ, where he served as Song Leader. Mr. Perkins was also employed by the Grant Parish Sheriff's Office. He was the son of the late Columbus W. Perkins and the late Ola I. (Dyson) Perkins. Mr. Perkins was also preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Strahan and Martha Perkins. He is also survived by his wife Lola F. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Dubois, Pop Hattaway, Houston Wall and James Ezell. ===== Odis Barnett (January 6, 1916 - August 9, 2007) Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro Mr. Odis "Skeeter" Barnett, age 91, of Brewton's Mill died Thursday, August 9, 2007 at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Ruston following a short illness. Mr. Barnett was retired from Stone Container in Hodge. He was an Army Veteran serving in World War II at the Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland campaigns. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, August 10, 2007 at Grace Baptist Church at Brewton's Mill and Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time. Mrs. Gorham is the daughter of the late Hanceford D. Finlay and the late Frances Pritchard Finlay. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Charles Finlay and H. D. Finlay, Jr., and two sisters: Louise Milliner and Gladys Evans. Survivors include her husband Mr. Glynn Gorham, one son: Toby Gorham and his wife Tabitha; two daughters: Glynda Carpenter and her husband Lamar all of Winnfield, and Julia Thomas and her husband Mickey of Concord, North Carolina, three sisters: Edna Crooks, Mrs. Joe Francis, and Bettye Lawrence all of Jena, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Bud was known not only as a great wife, mother and grandmother but was also loved by many students at the highschool where she worked and was lovingly referred to as "Mamaw Bud". During her lifetime she served as a musician in several churches and at regular nursing home services. Her love for music was passed on to her children and grandchildren by her encouragement and support. She will be loved and missed greatly by all those lives she touched. Funeral services for Mrs. Gorham will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Laurel Heights Baptist Church with Reverends Jack Miller and Lamar Carpenter officiating. A sister; Nanny Gray of Atlanta, Ga. 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. ===== Michael Tyron Tinnerello (April 17, 1975 - August 12, 2007) Guest Book | Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield Michael Tyron Tinnerello, age 32, of Winnfield, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2007 as the result of an automobile accident. Tyron was born April 17, 1975. He is the beloved son of Michael Lee and Shelby Tinnerello. He is survived by his grandmother Mrs. Lee Bell Erskins of Sikes, LA and a host of family and friends. Tyron was a 1993 graduate of Winnfield Senior High School where he was a 3 year letterman in baseball. He was also a 1998 graduate of the University of Louisiana in Monroe. He had been employed for 4 years as the information services coordinator for the Department of International Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans and for 1 year at Northwestern University in Natchitoches as a computer technology specialist. He was an avid duck hunter and sportsman where he loved to hunt on the Woodlands plantation in Monroe with his Dad and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winnfield. Funerals services for Tyron will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Calvin Phelps and Rev. Danny Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield. William Kenneth Boyd, age 75 of the Midway community, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. He was born October 26, 1931 in Catahoula Parish. His parents are the late Earl Boyd and Helen Marie McCready Boyd. He was also preceded in death by his wife Patsy Oglesby Boyd and by a grandson Brandon Lee. The Lord called him to the ministry and he served Him for forty five years. He had the priviledge of baptizing all of his children and his grandchildren. He performed the wedding ceremonies of three of his grandchildren. He was a member of the Calvary Heights Baptist Church, a retired insurance agent, and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include: one son: Ray Boyd of Austin, Texas; two daughters: Darlene Roark and her husband Don of Carthage, Texas, and Aimee Lee and her husband Ronald of Midway, Louisiana; three sisters: Earlene Turner, of Jena, Dorthy McQuaig of Urania, and Marie Lizana of Tullos; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
