Mrs. Clifford, Age 49, a communications consultant, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 10, 1956 in Shreveport, LA and worked for 23 years for Southwestern Bell. She loved golfing and was an active member of the Willow Springs Woman's Golfing Association, and played the Jack and Jill Tournaments Mixed Couples on Monday nights. Mrs. Clifford was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Rosier Hammett, and Aunt Christine Sandifer. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Matt Clifford Her Father, Lloyd Hammett of Winnfield, La. Her Brother, Tom Hammett and his wife Rosann of Arlington, Tx. Three Uncles, Eugene Rosier and his wife Sue of Winnfield, La. Earl Sandifer of Alexandria, La. Glenn Guin of Winnfield, La. She is also survived by several cousins from the Winnfield area. Mr. Monroe was born May 12, 1918, in Browndell, Texas. He was the son of the late Louis and Kathryn Dowden Monroe. Mr. Monroe served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a retired barber and a member of Hargis Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lorna Fletcher Monroe, one grand-daughter, Jennifer Ann Diffey, four sisters, and one brother.
