"Dick" Chelette entered into eternal rest on October 22, 2005 at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Winnfield. Mr. Chelette, 89 years young, was a loving father and a dear and loving friend to everyone. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday at the New Hope Non-Denominational Church located off of Hwy 1240 near Verda, from 5PM until time of services on Monday. Mr. Chandler was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church of Winnfield and a retired auto-body repairman and served in the 52nd Engineer Battalion during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty three years, Deane Dearmon Chandler, his daughter Elizabeth, his parents Malichie Chandler and Alice Oglesby Chandler Lincecum; his sister Doris and his brother Clyde. Mr. Chandler is survived by a daughter, Pauline Loe and husband Gene of Williana, a step-daughter Renee Evans and her husband Russell of Natchitoches, a step-son Richard Allbritton of Alexandria and a brother Dale Chandler of Winnfield. Martin Lewis Moffett, born April 16, 1908 in Gansville, La., died October 30, 2005 at his residence. Preceded in death by: his parents, Martin and Annie Moffett, five brothers; James Oliver, William Ashby, Dewey Eligh, Hubard Neander and Martin Winston, Jr., three sisters: Ollie Josephine Kitchingham, Annie Mae Culpepper and Bessise Catherine Ford. His first wife, Cora Irene Frazier, an infant son Donald Maurice and his second wife, Mildred Verdue Copeland Spigener. Survivors include: one daughter, Imogene Marie Whitehead and her husband Preston Eugene Whitehead of Baton Rouge, La., Two grandchildren; Rhonda Marie Bowers of Boston, In. and Ronald Eugene Whitehead of Midwest City, Ok. Brother Moffett was called to the ministry and ordained in 1957. Throughout his ministry he pastored several churches in area including siloam Baptist, where he was a member at the time of his death.
