Main St., Winnfield, LA 71483. ===== Cecil Dale Rowell (May 26, 1931 - October 11, 2006) Mr. Cecil Dale Rowell, age 75 of Winnfield, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Winn Parish Medical Center. Mr. Rowell is the son of the late Cecil B. Rowell and Clara McGuire Rowell. Mr. Rowell graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1957 and was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield and was active in various civic organizations. He also enjoyed reading and was an avid duck hunter and fisherman. Mr. Rowell is survived by two sisters: Kay Johnson his loving caregiver throughout his illness and her husband Mel of Lake Bistineau, Doris Ebersole and her husband Jim of Shreveport; one brother: Mack Rowell and his wife Sandy of Kilgore Texas. He was also survived by a special nephew Jake Johnson and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Rowell will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield with Reverends Craig James and Lindsey Burns officiating. Members of the Cedar Bluff Hunting Club will serve as honorary pallbearers. ===== Ilene Townsend Cloud (June 8, 1918 - October 13, 2006) Mrs. Ilene Townsend Cloud died at North Monroe St. Francis Hospital October 13, 2006. Originally from Winnfield, the past twelve years she has lived in Monroe, where her niece has seen to her care. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m and on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Old Union Cemetery in Joyce, the same cemetery of which her grandfather Mr. John Newton Townsend was instrumental in founding in the 1800's. Ilene was the last grandchild of John Newton Townsend and Martha Jane Sullivan Townsend. Preceding her in death was her husband Lee Cloud, her parents Bryant Finley Townsend and Geneva Gilcrease Townsend; seven brothers and sisters; two special nieces Violet Crabb and Myrtle Stewart. She leaves a special niece who has cared for her in the past twelve years Blondell Maxwell Logan; a great niece Marilyn Maxwell of Monroe, Kimberly Lanman and nephew Barry Crabb of Houston. She is also survived by great nieces Stephanie T. Johnson of Pineville and Susan T. Wright of North Logan Utah. Salley T. McInnish of Redding California; great nephew Louis Glynn Townsend of California; great great nephews Mark Johnson, Joey Johnson and Jason Johnson; several great great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends in Winn Parish. Ilene's mother died when she was at the age of three. She was raised soley by her father. He never remarried. After high school, she wished to become a nurse. Her father prevented her from her desire. She cared for him until his death. Upon his death she fufilled her life long desire, she went to nursing school and received her nursing degree. She retired in nursing from Winnfield General Hospital. Late in life she married Mr. Lee Cloud. Ilene lived a true to the word of God life. She was a kind humble, gentle lady. She never asked for anything and expected nothing from anyone. She lived her life as enstilled in her from decendants of the Pennsylvania Dutch Quakers. She was a member of the Old Union Baptist Church of Joyce and Laurel Heights Baptist Church of Winnfield. Pallbearers will be great great nephews: Mark Johnson, Jason Johnson, Joey Johnson, John Townsend, John Cloud, and Charles McFarland. A special appreciation to all of the wonderfull staff of the 4th floor at North Monroe St. Joseph Hospital and for the excellent care and compassionate professional work they gave of themselvles. Mr. Chandler was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church of Winnfield and a retired auto-body repairman and served in the 52nd Engineer Battalion during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty three years, Deane Dearmon Chandler, his daughter Elizabeth, his parents Malichie Chandler and Alice Oglesby Chandler Lincecum; his sister Doris and his brother Clyde.
