Lonnie Lee Chandler
(March 20, 1924 - September 9, 2004)

Lonnie Lee Chandler, age 80, of Winnfield, La., passed away Thursday,
September 9, 2004, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La. He
was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 29
years. He was also a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States
Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Franklin CV13 in the Asiatic Pacific
Theater and the Philippine Liberation. He was the son of the late Nathan
Chandler and the late Lillian (Sullivan) Chandler. Mr. Chandler was preceded
in death by his sister, Cortez Chandler. He is survived by his wife Johnnie
Jewel (Riffe) Chandler of Winnfield, La.; Three Daughters, Peggy Beaubouef
and her husband Hardy Jr. of Winnfield, La. Patsy Beaubouef and her husband
Kenneth of Winnfield, La. Laura "Jeannie" Richards and her husband Mark of
Woodworth, La. One Son, David Chandler and his wife Teresa of Winnfield, La.
Three Sisters, Inez Cagle and her husband Charles of Shreveport, La. Jeanez
Miescke and her husband Don of Mountain Home, Ark. Theda Baker of Winnfield,
La. Nine Grandchildren, Katelyn Chandler, Kyle Chandler, Jason Beaubouef and
his wife Cyndi, Chrissie Johnson and her husband Stacy, Laura Ellen Jones
and her husband Brandon, Vance Beaubouef, Lydia Beaubouef, Aaron Beaubouef,
and Lauren Richards. Four Great-Grandchildren, Morgan Johnson, Madeline
Johnson, Natalie Jones, and Mattie Claire Beaubouef. Services are under the
direction of Southern Funeral Homes, Inc., 202 E. Lafayette St., Winnfield,
La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday,
September 10, 2004, and Saturday, September 11, 2004 from 10:00 AM to 1:30
PM. Funeral services will be at Bethlehem Baptist Church at 2:00 PM
Saturday, September 11, 2004 , Dr. William Poe, Rev. Wayne Morrow, Rev.
Hardy Beaubouef, Sr., and Bro. Charles Cagle officiating. Interment will be
at Bethlehem Cemetery in Calvin, La.

Frank J. Clark, Jr
(September 26, 1921 - September 19, 2004)

Funeral services for Mr. Frank J. Clark, Jr. will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday,
September 21, 2004 in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home. Rev. Leonard Free
will be officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in
Winnfield. Mr. Clark, 82, of Winnfield died Sunday , September 19, 2004 at
the Autumn Leaves Nursing Home. Mr. Clark was a retired Brick Mason and a
veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and
a retired Air Force Pilot who served in India in the Second World War. He
was very active in the old Winn Sheriff's League and the Dixie Youth program
as both a Coach and Umpire. His parents, Frank J. and Laura Willmann Clark,
two brothers, Charles H. Clark and Jerry clark, and a Great Grandaughter,
Kaela Bevill, precede him in death. Survivors include his wife of 55 years,
Leola B. Clark, six sons, John F. Israel, Jr., Frank J. Clark, III and his
wife Linda of Winnfield, LA, Richard A. Clark and his wife Vickie, James G.
Clark and his wife Kathy, Mark L. Clark and his wife Diane, Charles T. Clark
and his wife Carolyn, all of Calvin LA. Two Brothers, Victor and Billie
Clark of Doylene, LA. Three sisters, Margaret Twilley of Greer, SC, Patsy
Coleman and Rosie Thomas of Mobile, AL. Pallbearers will be Grandsons Mike
Israel, John Israel, Kirk Clark, Richard Clark, James Clark, Joshua Clark,
Heath Clark, and Casey Estese. Honorary Pallbearers are Jaime Clark, Wendy
Israel, Erin C. Price, Kasey C. Bevill, Alayna Clark, Laura Clark, Megan

Mr. Doyle Lynn Durbin, age 67, of Winnfield, La., passed away Tuesday,
September 14, 2004, at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La. Mr.
Durbin was retired from Plum Creek and was a member of Laurel Heights
Baptist Church. Mr. Dubin was also retired from the Gospel Ministry. He was
also a member and Past Master of Goldonna Lodge #38 F & AM. Mr. Durbin
served his country in United States Navy. . . He was the son of the late
Dammons Durbin and the late Lena (George) Durbin. He was also preceded in
death by his brother, Raymond Durbin. He is survived by his wife Shirley
(Matthews) Durbin of Winnfield, La.; Three Daughters, Janis Durbin of

Mr. Dee Albert Gatlin, age 53, of Winnfield, La., passed away Saturday,
September 4, 2004, at Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La. He Served
in the Army during Persian Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was the
son of the late Calvin Gatlin and the late Lois (McGloflin) Gatlin and was

Mr. Robert T. Mellichamp, age 85, of Alexandria, La., passed away Friday,
September 24, 2004, at Healthsouth Riverside in Alexandria, La. He was a
member of the Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Mason for more than 50 years..
He was a retired United States Air Force Major Command Pilot during World
War II and a native of South Carolina. He and his wife had made England Oaks
Senior Community their home since 1998. He was the son of the late William
Mellichamp and the late Hattie (Strom) Mellichamp. He is survived by his
wife Myrtle (Pendarvis) Mellichamp of Alexandria, La.; One Daughter, Marsha

(February 19, 1922 - September 16, 2004)

Ernest H. Melton Sr.
Services for Ernest H. Melton, Sr. age 82 of Atlanta, La. will be held
Saturday at 2PM in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield with
Reverends Jack Miller, Matt Endris and Craig James officiating. Burial will
follow in the Melton Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the
funeral home on Friday from 5:30PM until 9PM and on Saturday from 10AM until
time of services. Mr. Melton was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving
for five years. Mr. Melton was born and raised in Winn Parish. On returning
to Winn Parish from the army, Mr. Melton operated a shoe repair business in
Winnfield for many years. Mr. Melton, served on the Winn Parish Police Jury
from 1952 to 1956, was superintendent of streets for the City of Winnfield
for several years and owned and operated the Lone Star Café. Mr. Melton
lived at Mulligan Inn on Saline Lake for 17 years and was known by friends
as an avid fisherman. Mr. Melton was a member of the Board of Directors for
the Winn Parish Fair Board when the buildings were built that still stand
today. Mr. Melton is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years: Grace
S. Melton of Atlanta La; his son Rusty and his wife Lou of St. Francisville
La.; his Daughter Janice Stroud and her husband Glen of Atlanta La., sister
Syble Deloach and her husband Tom of Henderson Tx.; brothers James A. Melton
and his wife Patsy of Malvern Ark, and Leonard Melton and his wife Angie of
Columbia La. Five Grandchildren: Wendy Melton of Walker La. Dena Melton
Howard and her husband Jeff of Shreveport, La. Chad Melton and his wife
Lauren of Denham Springs, La. Monica Stroud James and her husband Ty of

James Vines, age 79, of Winnfield, La., passed away Saturday, September 18,
2004, at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La. Mr. Vines was
employed by P. K. Smith Motors and was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist
Church. He Served his country in the 82nd Airborne of the Army during World
War II, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and liberated Holland. He
was the son of the late Larkin Vines and the late Georgia (Gates) Vines. He
is survived by his wife Jackie (Stewart) Vines of Winnfield, La; Two Sons,
Steve Vines and his wife Peggy of Winnfield, La. David Vines and his wife
