Daigre, 64, longtime employee of Mansfield Hardwood Lumber Company, died of a heart attack Monday while hauling a load of wood. He was stricken at the wheel of his truck and died before workers on the Mansfield yard could get him out. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Hixson Funeral Home chapel, conducted by Rev. Raymond Sjolander and Rev. Ernest Evans. Burial was in Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Mr. Daigre, a native of Rapides Parish, had lived in Winnfield 23 years and was employed by Mansfield for many years. He lived in South Winnfield. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dora Daigre, five sons, Junious, Benny, Sam, and Billy Dale, all of Winnfield, and Morris of Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Rachel Walters of Carwell, Texas; Mrs. Vallie DeRamus of Odessa, Texas; and Mrs. Velver Worsham of Winnfield; two brothers, Sam of Alexandria; and Bill of Oakland, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
