Ray Teal officiating. Interment was in Winnfield City Cemetery. Florence Wright Dalton died Monday, June 1, 1987 at 8 p.m. in Baton Rouge. She was born July 18, 1898 in Winnfield, Louisiana and was the daughter of James David Wright and Sara Alice Long Wright, a pioneer family of the area arriving in the late 1850s. She was preceded in death by a son, Newton Cleburn Dalton and brothers and sisters: Sara Alice Wright, Alma W. Harrell, Pearl Wright Harrell, Wade A. Wright, John M. Wright, James David Wright, Roy W. Wright, William H. Wright. Mrs. Dalton lived in Winnfield until she moved to Baton Rouge with her brother, Dr. Roy Wright in 1953, and lived at her residence on Eastwood Drive until now. Mrs. Dalton is descended from a large family that has many inroads in the Winn Parish area. She was devoted to care of her mother and son, Cleburn. Mrs. Dalton leaves a daughter in law, Helen Collins Dalton; three grandchildren, David Dalton, Darrell Dalton, and Deborah Dalton Ellebee; two great grandchildren, Nicole Ellebee and Beau Ellebee; a nephew, William H. Wright, Jr.; great nephews and nieces: Dr. Robert Hanchey, Ben Hanchey, James Hanchey, Alex Carlson, Harold Wright Carlson, Alma Carlson, W. H. Wright III, Arwin W. McKnight, and Charlotte Wright.
