All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: November 5, 1986 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Services Held In Texas For Former Winnfield Resident A former Winnfield resident, Mrs. AllaBelle Luzader Dark, 80, died at her home in Cleveland, Texas on Thursday, October 9, 1986. Mrs. Dark moved to Winnfield from Arkansas at an early age and was educated in Winnfield schools. She was a 1923 graduate of Winnfield High School and attended college at what is now Northwestern at Natchitoches, La. She was later employed by J. M. Hyde Dry Goods Store in Winnfield. In 1927, she married T. D. Dark of Gaars Mill, La., and later resided in Ruston, La. for twenty years before moving to Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Dark owned and operated Dark's Drive-In Restaurant in Cleveland for eleven years and Mrs. Dark continued with that business after his death in 1962. She was later owner and operator of the Merle Norman Shop. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 11 in Cleveland with interment in Cleveland Cemetery. Surviving Mrs. Dark are two daughters, Mrs. Nelda Sue Shaw of Cleveland, Texas, and Mrs. Beverly D. Solley of Baltimore, Md., six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
