Davidson of Wheeling Is Buried Wednesday Morn. Life-Long Resident of Winn Parish Dies Tuesday. In Civil War George W. Davidson who died at his home Tuesday at Wheeling was buried with Masonic honors at the Mt. Zion Cemetery Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock. Rev. McVea and the Rev. Lula Wardlow conducted the services. Mr. Davidson was 85 years, 3 months, and 26 days old and had lived practically all his life in the Wheeling Community. He was a member of the Baptist Church and had been active in civic and religious affairs of his community since early manhood. Late in the Civil War he enlisted and saw service a few months receiving his discharge at Vicksburg. He is survived by his wife by a second marriage, six sons, V. V. Davidson, Losson Davidson, Chatman Davidson, Henry Davidson, and Mack Davidson, two daughters, Mrs. Callie Brown and Mrs. Janie Dunaway, wife of J. J. Dunaway, justice of the peace of Ward 5, thirty-eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Those attending the funeral from Winnfield were A. T. Drewett, R. D. Cantwell, and Walter W. Allen.
