Zion Frank E. Davis, 66, husband of the former Carmen Spillers of Atlanta, passed away in the Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg, Miss., Wednesday, April 5, as the result of injuries sustained in an accident near Delta, La., at 2 p.m. that day. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. R. N. Meers and Rev. C. M. Robinson of Winnfield officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Masonic graveside services were conducted at the grave by members of Montgomery Lodge No. 168, F. & A. M. Mr. Davis, well known in Winn and Grant Parishes, was a Mason and Woodman. He was born August 11, 1883. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Carmen E. Davis of Delta, La.; one sister, Mrs. C. W. McGowen; four nephews, Frank, Earl, Ray, and Elwood and families, all of El Dorado; two nieces, Mrs. C. W. Amerson and Mrs. Herbert Davis; one half sister, Mrs. Jim Clawson of El Dorado. Other relatives are Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Spillers and family, B. W. Bandy and family, all of Atlanta; and Mr. and Mrs. James Cassell of Vicksburg, and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were J. G. Kilpatrick, J. D. Boston, G. W. Evans, W. D. Addington, O. H. Durham, and H. A. Keiffer. Out of town friends who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Hammett and family, Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Catledge, of Port Gibson, Miss.; R. F. Leonard and son, Howard Peabody, E. G. Bryant, and E. E. Middleton, all of Natchez, Miss.
