OBITUARIES

Leslie Ray Davies, Sr.

Services for Leslie Ray Davies, Sr., of Winnfield were held at 11 a.m.,
Wednesday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home with the Revs. Grayson Watson
and Calvin Phelps officiating.  Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery near
Montgomery with Masonic Graveside rites.  

Davies, 59, died at 2:15 a.m., Monday, January 9, 1984 in Humana Hospital,
Winn Parish. He was born December 28, 1924 at El Dorado, Arkansas.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Marine Corps.  He was a
member of First Methodist Church, Winnfield, and Eastern Star Masonic Lodge
No. 151 F. & A. M., Winnfield, and a retired oilfield driller and millwright.

Survivors include three sons, Jack Davies, of New Orleans, Leslie Ray Davies,
Jr., of Anchorage, Alaska, and Greggory E. Davies, Winnfield, and six
grandchildren.
