(Dad) Davis, 83, Former Local Man Dies Sunday Funeral services were conducted in the Winnfield Cemetery at 5 p.m. Monday for Alfred H. "Dad" Davis, 83, of Gramercy, retired railroad man and former resident of Winnfield for many years, who died in a Shreveport hospital Sunday. The deceased was born in Warrentown, Miss., on August 8, 1865. He was well known in Winnfield where he had been employed by the Tremont & Gulf Railway for many years. Survivors include a son, C. W. Davis, of Shreveport; six grandchildren, Mrs. Dudley P. Shell of Winnfield, Attwood H. Davis, Westbury, N.Y., John B. Davis, Mrs. George Wilco and Robert O. Davis of Shreveport, and six great-grandchildren, Pete and Steve Shell, Attwood, Jr., and Candice Sue Davis, George Wilcox, Jr., and Donnie Davis. The funeral Monday was under direction of Hixon Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dan Page, E. S. Cole, Prentice Cole, John T. DeLoach, Clyde DeLoach, and Burton Williams.
