All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 30, 1970 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Negroes Killed In Collision, Buried Here Funeral services were held Sunday in Winnfield at Cedar Grove Church for Myrtle Davenport, 42, of Monroe, and Brenda Fobbs, 13, of Winnfield, who together with Isiah Davenport, 55, of Monroe, husband of Myrtle, were all killed in a car-truck pre-dawn collision near Monroe Thursday of last week. The three were returning to Monroe from Winnfield where they had been visiting relatives. Myrtle Davenport and her niece, Brenda Fobbs, were buried at the Cedar Grove Cemetery Sunday and Myrtle's husband, Isiah Davenport, was buried in Ouachita Parish. Myrtle is survived by her mother, Mary West of Winnfield; three sisters, Ernestine Hall, Eddie Ruth Fobbs, and Olevia Penneywell, all of Winnfield; two brothers, Allen and Thurmond West, Sagniaw, Michigan; also a daughter, Gloria Jean Davenport. Brenda Fobbs is survived by her father, Mozelle Fobbs and her mother, Eddie Ruth Fobbs, and three sisters, all of Winnfield.
